Montgomery Watson Harza - MWH / NESPAK
Joint Venture of MWH and NESPAK were the Owner’s Engineer (“OE”) for the Project with MWH as lead partner. Scope of OE includes reviewing the design and construction supervision on behalf of Laraib.
MWH is ranked 2nd in Top 5 Design Firms of hydropower plants and first in water projects in the world as per “Engineering News Record” of 2009. With its origins well over 150 years ago, MWH employs more than 7,000 professionals in 197 offices in 38 countries worldwide with a multi-disciplined global team of program managers, business consultants, engineers, geologists, operators, scientists, technologists and regulatory experts. MWH has wealth of international experience in hydropower and currently involved in 6 Bulb Turbine hydropower projects (similar to New Bong) in the Americas. MWH or Harza provided consultancy services for all large hydropower projects in Pakistan including Tarbela (3,478 MW), Ghazi Barotha (1,450 MW), Mangla Raising Project and Neelum Jhelum (969 MW).
NESPAK is Pakistan’s premier engineering consultancy organization. Its international stature is well established and enjoys the reputation of being one of the top engineering consultancy organizations in Asia and Africa and is ranked amongst the world’s top 200 consulting firms. The scope of these services covers pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, surveying and mapping, investigations, design, tender and contract documentation, construction/installation supervision, contract management and post-construction services. At present, NESPAK has staff strength of 2627 employees including 2166 engineers, architects, planners, geologists, economists and other professionals. NESPAK was involved in all major hydropower projects in Pakistan including Tarbela (3,478 MW), Mangla (1,000 MW), Ghazi Barotha (1,450 MW) and Neelum Jhelum (969 MW), Jinnah (96 MW), Chashma (184 MW) and Warsak (240 MW).
